At A&A Disability Services, we believe every person has the right to be treated with dignity, respect and fairness.
Our supports are designed to promote your independence, choice, control and participation in decisions that affect your life.
Respect and Dignity
You have the right to be treated with dignity, courtesy and respect.
Your individuality, culture, beliefs, values, preferences and personal circumstances should be respected when your supports are provided.
Choice and Control
You have the right to make choices about your life and your supports.
You should be involved in decisions about the services you receive, how they are delivered and the goals you want to work towards.
We aim to provide information in a way that helps you make informed decisions.
Privacy and Confidentiality
You have the right to privacy.
Your personal information should be handled respectfully and confidentially and only used or shared where appropriate, authorised or required by law.
Safe and Quality Supports
You have the right to receive supports and services that are provided safely, competently and with care.
You should feel safe when receiving support from A&A Disability Services.
Freedom From Abuse, Neglect and Exploitation
You have the right to live and receive supports free from violence, abuse, neglect, exploitation, discrimination and sexual misconduct.
Concerns about your safety or wellbeing will be taken seriously and responded to appropriately.
Making Your Own Decisions
You have the right to express yourself, communicate your views and participate in decisions that affect you.
Where you choose, you may involve a family member, advocate, nominee, representative or other trusted person in discussions about your supports.
Raise Concerns
You have the right to raise a concern about your supports without fear that doing so will negatively affect the services you receive.
We want participants to feel comfortable speaking with our team when something is not working or could be improved.
Advocacy and Support
You have the right to seek independent advocacy or have another person support you when communicating with A&A Disability Services.
Your choice to involve an advocate or support person will be respected.
Your Support Should Be About You
We work with you to understand your needs, goals, routines and preferences.
Our aim is to provide person-centred support that helps you maintain greater independence, confidence and control over your everyday life.
